    Round ceiling hanger, cylindrical, 3 m diameter

    A classic for the trade fair stand or at the POS: the round ceiling hanger with fabric banner and 4c print. Simple and lightweight relative to its size. Two circularly bent keder profiles define the shape. The circles are usually segmented, i.e. divided into transportable segments. The upper ring is hung and the banner is threaded in. The lower ring is pushed onto the lower hem of the banner and hangs from the banner. The assembly is carried out in this order. The upper ring made of the keder profile is simply left open at one point so that the banner can be threaded in here. The lower ring can be pulled onto the lower, hanging hem with the keder tube segment by segment. The joints of the profiles are stabilised with a splice and additionally screwed. Geometrically, the layout of a round ceiling banner must be created on a cylinder development. This is simpler than it sounds: let's take a round banner with a 3 m diameter and 1 m height. The circumference is: 3 m x Pi, i.e. 3 x 3.1415 = 9.425 m So the file must first be created at 9425x1000 mm. In addition, 5 cm is needed at the top and bottom for the hem. On the right and left, you should add 10 cm of additional area so that there is enough space for the joint edge. The file size is therefore 9525x1200 mm, of which 9425x1000 mm remain for the visible area. When it comes to the arrangement of the logos, for example, you have to divide the circumference by 3 or by 4 and arrange the logos at this spacing. In our example, that is then 3141 mm for 3 logos and 2356 mm for 4 logos.

    FAQ about round banners / round ceiling hangers

    How are the round banners constructed?

    The round banner as a ceiling hanger consists of two circular keder profiles. The actual cylinder-shaped banner is fastened between the two rings. The upper ring of the keder profile is hung from wire ropes. The banner is pulled into the keder groove of the upper profile with a pole pocket containing an inserted keder tube. The lower ring is hung onto the banner using the same principle and serves as a weight so that it hangs taut. The banner can be pulled taut at the sides and thus hung wrinkle-free.

    Which diameter should I choose?

    The diameter is in principle freely selectable. The most common size at trade fair stands is 2 to 5 m diameter. For larger diameters, additional tension rods may be required so that the banner really hangs smoothly. Diameters that are too small are difficult, as the profiles cannot be bent too tightly. The minimum diameter should not be less than 1 m.

    Which profile should I choose?

    Up to a diameter of 2.5 m we recommend the 28 profile. From a diameter of 2.50 m we recommend the larger profile (20x46). For rings over 5 m in diameter, the larger 48 profile is also recommended.

    Which height is suitable?

    The height is just as freely selectable as the diameter. However, you should make sure that the proportions of the logo or graphics to be printed on the banner suit the cylindrical banner. Here it can be useful to create a visualisation beforehand. We are happy to help you with the calculation and rendering of the round ceiling hangers. A height of 60 to 100 cm with a diameter of 3 m is a good order of magnitude.

    How many logos fit on a round banner?

    The number of logos depends heavily on the aspect ratio of the logo used. In general, you can say that at least 3 logos should be used on a round banner so that it is visible from all sides. Usually four or more logos make sense.

    How heavy is a round banner?

    The weight is calculated automatically and shown as the total weight in the configurator.

    Can round ceiling hangers be printed on both sides?

    Yes, that is possible. For this, a different banner material is used, which has an opaque barrier layer in the middle so that the print does not show through.

    How are the round banners delivered?

    The banners are delivered disassembled. This means the ring-shaped profiles are divided into individual segments. The number of segments can be defined as desired. The banner itself is delivered rolled up.

    How often can the circular profiles be divided?

    The number of divisions should be as low as possible. The main reason is transport. For smaller diameters up to 1.5 m, dividing into two halves can suffice. A round banner with a 5 m diameter should be divided four to six times.

    How are the segments reassembled?

    The individual segments of the circle are joined with so-called splices. These are pushed into the profile and fixed with screws. All necessary accessories are automatically supplied correctly when selected in the configurator.

    How many hanging points does a circular banner need?
    At least 3 fixing points are required on the upper edge of the circular banner. For diameters of 2 metres or more, at least 4 fixing points are required. Ultimately, the number depends on the diameter.
    How are the profiles supplied with the circular banners?
    The profiles are cut into segments that are still suitable for transport and storage. Generally, the length does not exceed 2.5 metres. Upon agreement, the segments will be cut to your specifications.
    Can the profiles be divided?
    Yes. The profiles can be divided for transport and screwed back together later using a splice. When ordering here in the shop, they are divided automatically to avoid excessive package dimensions.
    How are divided profiles joined together?
    The profiles are joined using what is known as a splice. A short connecting strut is inserted into both profiles and screwed tight. The joint is very stable, though of course not quite as rigid as a continuous profile. So when dividing profiles the rule is: as often as necessary, as rarely as possible.
    Can the circular banner be hung from a single point?
    Yes. However, this requires a suitable suspension system. The single-point suspension system pulls the upper ring together slightly. The upper profile must therefore be sturdy enough. Furthermore, the wire rope holders must be able to run at an angle. Our round banners for single-point suspension meet all these requirements and are approved for use at most trade fairs.
    What is the advantage of hanging round banners vertically?
    Vertical suspension is more cost-effective, as the profiles have to bear less force and can therefore be lighter. Furthermore, the rings are not deformed by lateral forces, which makes it easier to achieve a crease-free suspension. This requires a sufficient number of suspension points above the circular banner, e.g. using a rig or trussing.
    How are the graphic dimensions for round banners calculated?
    The dimensions for the round banners are calculated as follows: Width: Diameter × 3.14 (pi) Height = Height (your input) Bleed / hem allowance: Width + 200 mm (for the overlap with Velcro) Height + 100 mm (for the hem) The total height of the circular banner is the specified height plus approx. 80 mm to allow for the profiles.

    What are the printing specifications for circular banners?

    What resolution is required?
    In short: supply vector artwork wherever possible; for pixel images use no more than 300 dpi and no less than 35 dpi. Detailed information is available here
    Are spare parts available?
    Yes. Every individual component can be reordered separately. If you cannot find the part directly with the article, simply send us an enquiry by email, ideally quoting your order or job number.
    Can I stand the frame on the floor?
    No. This circular banner requires a hanging mechanism. The banner itself is suspended from the top ring, and the bottom ring is attached to the banner.
    Do I need tools for assembly?
    Yes. You will need Allen keys in sizes 3 to 5 for the frame and the suspension. We recommend white cotton gloves for inserting the banners.
    Are the banners delivered rolled?
    Yes. With very large dimensions, the banners may have to be folded instead.
