Pantone

Pantone (also PMS, Pantone Matching System) is a globally used system of spot colours. Behind every Pantone number is a precisely defined, pre-mixed shade – for example the very specific red of a company logo.

In large-format digital printing we print with the four CMYK inks, not with pre-mixed spot colours. A Pantone colour therefore has to be converted to the closest possible CMYK tone. This works well for most colours but cannot match every shade exactly – especially very saturated or metallic tones deviate visibly.

Tip: convert Pantone colours to CMYK yourself before supplying the data – then you control the result. Feel free to give us a binding CMYK value for your brand colour.
