LED
An LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a small semiconductor component that turns electricity directly into light. Compared with a light bulb or fluorescent tube, an LED is very economical, stays cool and lasts for many years. That is exactly why it has become the standard wherever reliable, permanent light is needed – including illuminated displays.
In our LED light displays and textile frames, the LEDs sit in the aluminium frame and light the tensioned, translucent banner artwork from behind. A printed fabric becomes an evenly glowing luminous surface – ideal for trade fairs, retail and shop windows.
Good to know: an even glow does not come from just any LED. When a display is lit from the edge, special lens LEDs are used to spread the light all the way to the centre of the surface. How that works is explained under edge lighting.
