Groove

The groove is a narrow guide channel in a frame or tension profile. The keder – the plastic cord or flat keder sewn into the banner edge – is inserted into it. This holds the fabric all round and brings it evenly under tension, with no waves or sagging.

It is important that the keder thickness matches the groove: a keder that is too thin will not hold securely, one that is too thick cannot be inserted. In our profile systems, keder and groove are matched to each other.
